PriumCare Medical Travel Services in China
Record preparation, a check of doctors and hospitals, and appointment coordination. Coordinators do not diagnose, and a bed, a date or a study place is not reserved in advance.

Direct answer. PriumCare helps an overseas patient organise records, check information that can lawfully be obtained about clinicians and hospitals, pass questions to a hospital and coordinate appointments, interpreting and on-site steps that are written into the service scope. You decide which of those steps you need after describing the illness, the goal and the travel constraints. Coordinators do not diagnose, prescribe or decide whether an operation is indicated. A conversation before travel can make the unknowns easier to see. It cannot reserve a bed, an operation date, a place in a study, or a treatment result.
What the service does and does not decide
PriumCare looks for care that can assess your case. It does not treat one hospital as the default destination. What is available depends on the region, hospital rules, capacity and the features of the case. Whether to accept treatment is your decision, after a licensed clinician has explained the possible benefit and the harm.
The service can arrange and translate records you provide, check information that can lawfully be obtained, relay your questions and the hospital’s replies, and coordinate appointments, interpreting and the on-site steps named in the written scope. A medical background is not the same as a current licence to practise. A coordinator cannot use the service role to diagnose, prescribe or decide an operative indication.
A checklist to send before payment
- Request separate lines for hospital charges, PriumCare coordination, document translation, interpreting, accompaniment and transfers. Confirm who receives each payment, the currency, inclusions, exclusions and whether each amount is a confirmed price or an estimate. Ask who must approve extra charges before work starts.
- If you only need appointment help or report translation, state that need. Ask what limited scope the team can offer, what it delivers and what remains your responsibility. A task listed here is not necessarily sold separately or included in every package; availability and terms require team confirmation.
- Before deciding to travel, ask whether the receiving institution permits a remote consultation, what records it needs, the language arrangements and its fees. A records review, a consultation with you present and an in-person examination are different services. Confirm which is available and whether it produces a written response.
Screening and other routine visits
This path is for someone without a severe acute illness who wants screening, dental care, eye care, traditional Chinese medicine or a consultation about regulated aesthetic medicine during a trip. Choose tests from age, risk, earlier results and a clinician’s advice. A longer list of tests is not automatically more useful.
The length of a screening visit is set by the tests that are booked. Reports, repeat tests, examinations that use anaesthesia and a specialist assessment are separate from the visit itself. A chest CT is not a fixed item for every visitor. Acupuncture, herbal medicine and injectable aesthetic treatment need their own check of indication, reasons not to proceed, and follow-up. For aesthetic medicine, check the institution, the practitioners, the procedures and the product licences. China’s Measures for the Administration of Medical Aesthetic Services (former Ministry of Health Order No. 19) is the national rule for that regulated activity. It does not make a particular clinic suitable for you.
“Regenerative” or “anti-ageing” care should not be treated as an ordinary consumer service. If a proposal involves cells or another new biomedical method, check that project’s approval or research status, who it is for, the ethics requirements and the fees. A label such as “advanced” is not a reason to proceed. How a checkup and a specialist visit fit in one trip separates screening from a visit prompted by symptoms.
Planned specialty care and surgery
This path is for a defined clinical question, a chronic symptom, or a wish to discuss an operation that is not an emergency. Whether you need a records review, a remote consultation with you present, or an authorised person carrying the file, depends on what the hospital allows and what the case needs. An authorised records discussion is not required for every illness, and it does not replace your own examination.
The service can organise the file, look for candidate specialty teams, ask about acceptance and fees, and collect the hospital’s replies. Where the match is strong enough and comparison is inside the agreed scope, the note can set out two or three candidates. If there are fewer, the note says so. Candidates are compared by fit with the disease and by the source of the information, not by a label of aggressive or cautious.
Time before travel, time in China and time before a safe journey home are three different estimates. Tests, pathology review, an anaesthetic assessment, recovery in hospital and a return visit can each lengthen the trip. Do not copy another patient’s trip length. A clinician’s willingness to assess you further is not a reserved bed and not a reserved operation. The pre-departure checklist is the list to use before flights are difficult to change.
A second opinion or a question about research
This path is for a complex diagnosis you want re-read, for a comparison of current options, or for a question about clinical research. A second opinion or a multidisciplinary discussion can be useful at more than one point in care. You do not have to exhaust every standard treatment before asking. Standard treatment, a product that already has approval, a specially permitted medicine or device, and a research project should be described separately.
A clinical trial is research. A public registry entry and a first look at whether you might fit do not enrol you. The study team screens against the protocol. You should be able to read the purpose of the study, the known and unknown risks, whether allocation may be random, what follow-up requires, and who pays. For a patient who is not a Chinese citizen, also confirm language, long-term follow-up, identity documents and any rule in the protocol about eligibility. Registrations are published on the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry platform of the Center for Drug Evaluation.
CAR-T, NK-cell and other cell-related proposals are not general treatments for cancer. Check the specific product, the indication, and whether it is approved or still a study. Specially permitted medicines and devices are limited to named institutions and approval conditions. Coordination can help you find and read that public information. It cannot obtain access for you, and it cannot promise a benefit. Our notes on cancer treatment and innovation-drug access keep those categories apart.
Urgent illness while you are in China
If symptoms are severe, call 120 or go to an emergency department. Do not wait for a coordination reply. Give your location, the symptoms and a phone number. Emergency care and transfer are charged under local rules and the service actually provided.
Where the written scope and the working hours cover it, PriumCare can help you find a nearby place of care, contact an institution and deal with language. The institution that can treat the problem promptly is usually a better choice than a search for a particular hospital grade. Testing, an online consultation, a prescription and delivery of medicine each depend on a lawful local service and on a clinician’s assessment. None of them can be assumed to be available at the moment you need them. Do not decide on your own medicine from a test result alone.
From the first enquiry to care after you go home
- Describe the need. State the main problem, earlier diagnoses, the treatment question, your country and the travel constraints. Confirm the scope, the fee and the cancellation terms before you pay.
- Authorise and organise the file. Send records, pathology, medicines and imaging only to the extent needed. A translation keeps the original beside it. If the diagnosis is unclear or a page is missing, say so.
- Ask the hospital and record the reply. Request a records review or a consultation only in the way the hospital allows. Write down the source, the date of the reply and the questions still open.
- Decide on travel from the reply. Use the hospital’s reply and the clinical assessment. Leave room for extra tests, a change in the schedule and recovery.
- The visit and the departure. Appointments, interpreting or an escort are provided only as agreed. Collect discharge papers, the medicine list, follow-up instructions and what to do if a symptom is abnormal. Discuss who continues care at home.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose when clinicians recommend different plans?
Ask each clinician to explain the basis of the diagnosis, the indication, the alternatives and the risks. A second opinion is reasonable when the difference matters. PriumCare can help set the differences out in one note. The medical explanation and the treatment recommendation come from a clinician who is qualified to give them.
How are the service fee, hospital charges and insurance separated?
The coordination fee, hospital charges, interpreting and travel costs should be listed apart. A hospital estimate can change when the tests or the illness change. Direct billing or a later claim depends on your insurance contract, any agreement with the hospital and prior authorisation. Check those before you travel. Direct billing and language coordination explains why those are separate confirmations.
How should I send medical records to PriumCare?
First read who receives them, why, how long they are kept and how you can withdraw permission. Health information is sensitive personal information. Handling it has to meet the consent and protection rules that apply, including extra conditions if the file is sent to another organisation or outside mainland China. China’s Personal Information Protection Law is the national statute. Use the secure channel named in your agreement, not a public link.
Can PriumCare help a cancer patient arrange care in China?
The scope can include organising the cancer file, checking candidate specialty information, passing questions for a second opinion or a multidisciplinary discussion, and coordinating an appointment and on-site support. What is actually offered is confirmed before you start. Diagnosis, the choice of treatment and medical advice remain with the receiving hospital and its licensed clinicians.
Can coordination place me in a cancer clinical trial in China?
No. The service can help you read public registrations and contact a study centre. The study team decides eligibility against the protocol. A patient from outside China also has to confirm language, identity, follow-up and who pays. Benefit from a trial is uncertain.
What to read before you rely on a candidate list
If you want the method behind a candidate note, which figures may be missing, and how fee independence is written down, read how PriumCare checks doctors and hospitals. To see the questions a patient can send before naming anyone, read how to choose a doctor and a hospital. Start a scoped enquiry on the contact page. For an emergency in China, call 120.
